Thanks for Dropping By! I'd love to learn more about you, so why don't you join my MyBlogLog Community and say "Hi"?
This is a heads up on an amazing 8 minute video of an interview Joel Bauer had on personal branding. I found it one of Ben Mack’s Blogs, and I was floored by the concept.
Joel really fulfilled his promise in the beginning of the interview…
Here are some of the points I took away.1) Personal Branding - make it count. Some of the things that Joel uses are… dressing in a suit, a unique looking business card, and a “USP” done right.2) The right way to do a USP… Focus on the customer, and what you are promising them. It’s not about you, it’s about the customer. For the show host it was a promise of emotion - or sorting out emotion. For the video engineer, it was “vision” etc.
The example for a real estate agent, was “have you ever been in a house that you’ve dreamed of buying”.
3) If you create the USP around what the customer is desperate for, you will automatically disqualify any prospect that’s a waste of your time. Someone that isn’t looking for a new house will say “no, not really” etc.
4) The goal is to tap into the person’s child-like curiousity. (That’s the root of passion, desire etc.) Once you’ve qualified the person, you just let them continue going.
For example, with the real estate agent, Joel would pull out a sticky note and write down what the person’s dream house is.
