The undug gold mine of SEM…MSN???

By Los Angeles Internet Marketing • June 28th, 2007

Thanks for Dropping By! I'd love to learn more about you, so why don't you join my MyBlogLog Community and say "Hi"?

Tonight’s post is kinda short, as I watched Live Free Die Hard and I came home at like 10:15.

Anyways, I’ve found a fascinating thing. I work mostly with paid search, and dabble in SEO, blogging etc. The most underutilized search marketing tool is MSN! (Can’t give you specifics but…) Our cost per conversion from MSN is about 1/3 to 1/5 of the cost of Google or Yahoo. (Yahoo is about 3/4 of the cost of Google - surprisingly).

In addition, MSN has some great targeting  features that we haven’t even begun to play with. You can segment your population, and double the amount you are willing to pay depending on  the demographic. So for example, if most of my people are Males above the age 35 - I can double my CPC for them!

They also have some sick research tools in their “adlabs“. They currently give some of the best demographic data, as well as the most specific PPC data of the “Big 3″. The only disadvadvantage - like  wordtracker, is that there is not enough people in the database to give the “niche keywords”.

In short - if you do PPC - you better go sign up for MSN adcenter! (And kick me in the butt if I haven’t implemented across aall of my companies sites in a week!)
